Giraffe Gets Bad News
And some glowsticks
Today has been difficult: I had to explain to Giraffe that he won’t be coming on the Attic Mission with us, despite his help with making the Anti-Spider Protection Vehicle. Otter Keeper says we can’t all go to the attic.
I think Giraffe has taken the news fairly well. I’ve given him 2 Glowsticks as compensation and promised to tell him all about the attic when we return. I’ve also said he can look after the torch until Saturday. (I think this has helped a bit, because Giraffe loves the torch.)
This might all be for the best. Giraffe has had no spider training whatsoever, so he just isn’t prepared for attic exploration! Sometimes being the Mission Leader is hard, but I know I’ve made the right decision. (Also, Giraffe doesn’t know how to turn the torch on, so the battery will be safe.)
Have you considered that Giraffe may figure out the torch between now and Saturday?
I do hope not! Don’t worry, Giraffe is fairly slow with these kind of things. If I get worried, I’ll tell him I need to borrow the batteries for something else..
He could be placed in a figurehead “management” position. It might make him feel better and he would be out of your way!
I’m sure Giraffe will understand. x
Poor Giraffe, he does look good in his glow sticks.
Today is Saturday. What happened with Giraffe and the glow sticks? I’m hoping you got lucky and Giraffe got involved in something else. He did look wonderful in glow sticks.
Giraffe may consider himself useful after all – he knows the torch has batteries, but he also knows he’s glowing without any, and this might help to scare away any spiders….. but is he brave enough?
Hello, poor giraffe, cheer him up by telling him I voted for your book on goodreads. Have threatened all my friends with spiders if they don’t vote too.
It’s a go thing that giraffe
Reconsider, giraffe’s long neck could be really helpful for peeking into dark corners, especially if he has the torch!
