Teddy has returned!!!!

teddy in the post office

Teddy Is HOME ! ! !

Wonderful wonderful fantastic news, TEDDY IS Back! This is just the best news ever! I’m so happy I just don’t know what to do (actually I did have an idea about having a party but Otter Keeper said no because it’s a weekday)

Anyway, It was still the morning time and Otter Keeper had gone to work. I had settled down to making a new missing Teddy poster and was feeling quite sad (I’ve been sad ever since Teddy went) but at about lunchtime Otter Keeper phoned up with THE BEST NEWS EVER! He had heard from the lady at the post Office, SHE HAD FOUND TEDDY!

After running round the room and lots of sofa bouncing I suddenly realised I needed to speak to Otter Keeper more to know what would happen next. So I returned to the phone. Otter Keeper explained to me that he would come home in his lunchbreak and we would be going to bring Teddy home.

It took forever for lunchtime to come and I was so excited it was hard to control myself, especially in the car on the way there (otter keeper pointed out this was why the booster seat was so useful) I said he was right and the booster seat was great and a most useful purchase. The booster seat genuinely didn’t seem to be as annoying because I was so happy we were going to get teddy!

I always love going to the post office but today it was better than ever. I told everyone I met on the way that we were going to get teddy. Otter keeper said I was just confusing people because normal people can’t understand me (only Otter keeper understands me) and they also wouldn’t know who teddy was. But to be honest I didn’t really mind what was happening because Teddy was back!

When we arrived at the post office I couldn’t see him at first but then otter Keeper lifted me up onto the special Otter platform and the nice post lady pointed to…. TEDDY!!! there he was!!!

Now Teddy is home life can go back to being brilliant and amazing again. The best thing of all is when I offered the post lady my yellow crayon and saved pocket money as the reward she said it was ok and I could keep them! This was fantastic. Ladies that work in the post office are just great and now I want to be a postman a bit more than an astronaut when I grow up. (But this is subject to change because I also quite want to be a professional gardener or a hotel receptionist this week)

I’m so happy teddy is back. I haven’t worked out why he wanted to go to the post office yet, he’s being rather closed about it – but I think he’s just a bit upset because he must have missed me and Otter Keeper lots which would be very distressing for him. At the same time though I am also a little angry with him for going to the post office exploring without me. I will be giving him some special training next week in how to not go exploring without your friends because it can be dangerous. I would never go to the post office without Otter Keeper for example in case a stranger talked to me or we needed to get on a bus (I find these things quite hard by myself) . otter and teddy

Otter Keeper says I must also say thank you for all the kind help and support I got when looking for teddy. Thankyou so much! Teddy is very grateful too and he promises not to go exploring by himself again. I should go now, it’s time for some Teddy interrogation – he has information about the secret inner workings of the post office and I must get it out of him whilst it’s still fresh in his mind.

Teddy …MISSING !!!!

April 29th, 2010

lost teddy poster

Missing Teddy – Please HELP!

Terrible Terrible news, TEDDY IS MISSING! This is just the worst news ever! Last time I saw him was the other week when we were exploring. But then, when it was time to get ready for bed I looked for him as usual…… and he was…GONE!

At first I wasn’t too worried Teddy does have an odd habit of wandering off back to do something in the place where we were last playing together – I tell him off, but he is quite stubborn and keeps doing it. Anyway, when I still couldn’t find teddy the next morning, I started to get worried! What if Kate has trapped him? Or maybe he’s even run away because he doesn’t like me anymore (we had an argument last week when we were marking househould objects out of 10. He said the toaster should be a 6 when it is clearly worthy of a 7 – he’s biased because he burnt his paw – I did tell him not to touch it)

Otter keeper said I was being silly and that I’d just misplaced Teddy. He said when he got home from work we’d have a proper look together. This cheered me up as activities with Otter Keeper are always fun – even if it is on a sad occasion like searching for a missing friend. We looked everywhere that evening but we STILL COULDN’T FIND HIM. I was really very upset that night and although he didn’t seem worried on the outside, I knew Otter keeper was also really really sad and missing Teddy lots on the inside – maybe even more than me). Otter Keeper and Teddy are a bit like that, they find it hard to show their feelings for each other sometimes.

where is teddy

I was desperate to do something to help find teddy so Otter keeper helped me make a little sign, so that if anyone finds teddy they will return him to me. Otter Keeper also suggested I offer a reward for Teddy’s safe return. This was quite hard because it meant giving up some favorite Otter things. After thinking long and hard about how much I love teddy I offered my yellow crayon (my second favorite colour) some sweets and even a large sum of my pocket money I’ve been saving. £1.72 is a lot of money so teddy had better appreciate it. I will probably make him pay it back to me actually.

I’ve put the poster up in our window – and hopefully everyone will see it. The postman was very nice (Otter Keeper let me show him the poster) he said he’d keep an eye out for teddy whilst he delivers all his post, I was very grateful – I do really like the postman – he’s a good friend.

I should go now , I’m keeping a watch at the window just in case teddy has got outside somehow (or in-case I see Kate leaving her house with a suspicious teddy shaped parcel) – I’m also trying to wave at people walking past, to point at the poster. Sadly they don’t usually see me because I’m quite small, and we have an annoying garden in the way.

I really hope he comes back soon. I miss him so much. Exploring is just no fun without him there, and I keep thinking of him all lonely and trapped in kate’s horrible house.. it’s times like this that I think back to the time when me and teddy requested mobile phones, Otter Keeper said no. If he’d just let us this would never have happened (I could phone Teddy to find out where he is – or where he is trapped). If you look at it this way the whole thing is actually Otter Keeper’s fault really. I put this theory to otter keeper but he just said that in Teddy’s absence I was having to resort to blaming things that went wrong on him instead of Teddy! He’s just being mean because he’s worried about Teddy, I understand.

teddy trap

If you can please spread the word about Teddy’s disappearance, or if you see Teddy, do get in touch – he can be quite shy so probably won’t respond if you call to him. If you have any trouble I suggest you tie him to you with a string and then come and find me and Otter keeper as soon as possible.

New strategical Otter Outpost

February 10th, 2010

otter and the washing machine

When making a strategical outpost you have to be careful.

Yesterday Otter Keeper was at work as usual, so me and Teddy decided to go exploring. Although we have been exploring many times before it still doesn’t get boring because we always seem to find new places and exciting things. I’m actually the best explorer and sometimes Teddy really doesn’t seem to want to come, so I have to tie him to me. Otter Keeper says that Teddy prefers a quiet life in front of the tv, but Otter Keeper’s wrong – he doesn’t understand Teddy like I do.

Exploring started off well We found a few interesting items that might be of use in the ongoing Kate trap program. We also found some secret documents and Otter plans under the sofa which we had completley forgotten about. I told Teddy off for this because it was probably him that had left them there and if these plans were to fall into the wrong hands it could be a disaster!

After a while we found ourselves in the kitchen. The Kitchen is one of my favorite rooms in the whole house – we have very exciting things in our kitchen like special machines to do things. I’ve always been quite fond of one Otter Keeper calls the washing machine. Usually it makes lots of noise and turns round. but today it had revealed itself to have a perfect little room just the right size for an Otter strategical outpost.

Teddy kept watch outside while I tried out the room for size , it was perfect! I then shut the secret door which was also perfect as Kate would never think to look inside. It was then that I realised me and Teddy had done a very silly thing. I couldn’t open the secret door!!!

I had to sit inside the new strategical Otter outpost for the rest of the day! Teddy was useless, he panicked and was too shocked to let me out. I told him again and again to go and call Otter Keeper on the phone (I’m allowed to phone him in emergencies – and this was an emergency) Eventually Otter Keeper came home and he heard my little tapping on the secret door. It wasn’t all bad because Otter Keeper seemed very relieved I was ok and I got a big cuddle.

otter trapped help

Tonight we’re watching a film together and I’m very happy about this. Actually I say “we” are watching a film, but a certain someone is not going to be watching the film with us… Teddy! I’m fed up with his attitude recently so I’ve put him down the side of the bed for the evening to think about what he’s done. Hopefully this will have the desired effect. Especially seeing as we’re watching the lion king .. which is one of Teddy’s favourites.

Sticking to the things you love

January 14th, 2010

Sticking to the things you love

It all started yesterday morning
It was a good day to begin with. Me and Teddy had a successful sofa exploring expedition and had found an old piece of string and a very nice biro lid to present to Otter Keeper when he got home from work. We were exhausted and had just settled down to watch some daytime TV when I realised my crayon was nowhere to be seen. Me and Teddy searched all day (he didn’t put much effort in) but we couldn’t find it.

When Otter Keeper got home he found my crayon but I was still sad because me and Teddy had really wanted to do some colouring in that day. Otter Keeper explained how you must look after things that are important to you and if you have something REALLY important (like a pound, or a favourite crayon) you should stick with it for life.

The next day Otter Keeper was at work again and me and Teddy began discussing what he had told us. We were both very worried about loosing more things that were important to us … so Teddy hit on a brilliant idea. We decided to take Otter Keeper’s advice and stick together with the things that were important to us in life … and luckily last week we discovered where Otter Keeper kept the special glue (I’m not allowed to play with this but this was important)

It was hard deciding which were my most important things. I stuck myself to my ball and my crayon – but then Teddy pointed out that he was very important, so I stuck him to me too. After a while of thinking I suddenly realised what the most important thing in the world that I didn’t ever want to loose was …OTTER KEEPER. As soon as he arrived home and got through the door I ran up and stuck myself to him I didn’t even say hello…the fear of loosing him was too great at this point.

However today has ended a bit sad. Keeper is very cross and I am very confused. I did exactly what he had taught me… but apparently he didn’t mean it like that. I dont see what the problem is .. being stuck to Otter Keeper is great fun, and I always know where he is which is handy. Sadly it turns out sticking yourself to Otter Keepers is not allowed and he is trying to detach me, I’ve explained to him I might loose him if he does this but he doesn’t seem too worried.

Well me and Teddy are sticking together – no matter what happens! (hide and seek may not be as much fun – but he was always rubbish at that anyway).

An Otter Christmas

December 30th, 2009

Christmas!!!

Yay yay YAY..Christmas was so much fun.
But firstly I have to pass on the slightly sad news that the Santa stakeout failed. Me and Teddy both put in extra effort on christmas eve to stay up. I was in fact a bit annoyed with Teddy because when I couldn’t stay up any more I made him promise to keep watch. He must have fallen asleep as when I woke up… Santa had been. I questioned Teddy as to why he had failed to follow instruction but he just gave me his usual blank expression which he always does when he’s been bad. I’ve forgiven him now, it’s Christmas and Otter keeper says you shouldn’t be angry with anyone at christmas (I’m making a concession for Kate – I’m always angry with her)

Christmas day was SO much fun, not only did I get lots of presents fron Santa but also from Otter Keeper! this meant lots of Otter presents. Santa even bought Teddy a small present which was very thoughtful, I had to open this for teddy as I think he was a bit overwhelmed (it’s hard to tell but I think he gets really excited at Christmas). You see, Not many people understand teddy because he doesnt say much. Only I really know what he thinks and sometimes I have to explain to Otter Keeper what Teddy is saying.

Anyway, the only bad thing Ive found about christmas day is brussel sprouts. They are these nasty green things and they taste exceptionally horrible if you’re an otter. Keeper thinks brussel sprouts are great (he’s so stupid). Teddy REALLY hated them and I passed this information on to Otter Keeper (teddy was really quite rude about the brussel sprouts) and Keeper got a bit cross. I told Teddy to keep a low profile for the rest of the day (he usually does any way) ….and I had to eat my sprouts. yuk. I hope whoever invented brussel sprouts (probably Kate) is happy now.

I really hope everyone else had A wonderful Christmas like me. Otter Keeper said I should take this chance to say thankyou to eveyone who reads my stories (thats probably YOU! if your reading this). We have lots planned for next year so don’t go anywhere! I would put Teddy on guard to make sure you don’t … but he’d probably just fall asleep

Waiting for Santa

December 8th, 2009

otter and santa

Santa … where are you ?

So this week I’ve been discussing christmas with Otter Keeper.
Christmas sounds really great – quite like Otter birthdays actually. He told me all about this man called Santa who can apparently come down the chimney – I didn’t like the sound of this too much at first (maybe Kate could gain access using the same methods) but it turns out besides having a few odd habits like this… Santa also brings christmas presents for Otters !!!

Santa is AMAZING! As soon as Otter Keeper told me about how kind santa is I realised I would have to make sure I got to meet him when he arrives to deliver my presents. So me and Teddy have decided to camp out until he gets here. So far I’ve found it quite hard to stay awake but I’ve left Santa instructions in case he comes when I’m asleep. I’ve also told Teddy to keep watch but he’s quite unreliable sometimes so can’t really be trusted.

Otter Keeper says Santa won’t be here for a while yet. He could be right but you never can be too sure and I don’t want to take any risks and end up missing him. Otter Keeper could also be a bit jealous because I had the idea to stay up and wait for Santa rather than him.

I can’t wait to meet Santa. I have so many things I need to tell him and he sounds so nice. I might tell him all about Kate and see if there is anything he can do. I just hope he comes soon, I really want my Otter presents (plus my nose gets quite cold when I have to keep looking up the chimney).
