Teddy …MISSING !!!!

Missing Teddy – Please HELP!

Terrible Terrible news, TEDDY IS MISSING! This is just the worst news ever! Last time I saw him was the other week when we were exploring. But then, when it was time to get ready for bed I looked for him as usual…… and he was…GONE!

At first I wasn’t too worried Teddy does have an odd habit of wandering off back to do something in the place where we were last playing together – I tell him off, but he is quite stubborn and keeps doing it. Anyway, when I still couldn’t find teddy the next morning, I started to get worried! What if Kate has trapped him? Or maybe he’s even run away because he doesn’t like me anymore (we had an argument last week when we were marking househould objects out of 10. He said the toaster should be a 6 when it is clearly worthy of a 7 – he’s biased because he burnt his paw – I did tell him not to touch it)

Otter keeper said I was being silly and that I’d just misplaced Teddy. He said when he got home from work we’d have a proper look together. This cheered me up as activities with Otter Keeper are always fun – even if it is on a sad occasion like searching for a missing friend. We looked everywhere that evening but we STILL COULDN’T FIND HIM. I was really very upset that night and although he didn’t seem worried on the outside, I knew Otter keeper was also really really sad and missing Teddy lots on the inside – maybe even more than me). Otter Keeper and Teddy are a bit like that, they find it hard to show their feelings for each other sometimes.

where is teddy

I was desperate to do something to help find teddy so Otter keeper helped me make a little sign, so that if anyone finds teddy they will return him to me. Otter Keeper also suggested I offer a reward for Teddy’s safe return. This was quite hard because it meant giving up some favorite Otter things. After thinking long and hard about how much I love teddy I offered my yellow crayon (my second favorite colour) some sweets and even a large sum of my pocket money I’ve been saving. £1.72 is a lot of money so teddy had better appreciate it. I will probably make him pay it back to me actually.

I’ve put the poster up in our window – and hopefully everyone will see it. The postman was very nice (Otter Keeper let me show him the poster) he said he’d keep an eye out for teddy whilst he delivers all his post, I was very grateful – I do really like the postman – he’s a good friend.

I should go now , I’m keeping a watch at the window just in case teddy has got outside somehow (or in-case I see Kate leaving her house with a suspicious teddy shaped parcel) – I’m also trying to wave at people walking past, to point at the poster. Sadly they don’t usually see me because I’m quite small, and we have an annoying garden in the way.

I really hope he comes back soon. I miss him so much. Exploring is just no fun without him there, and I keep thinking of him all lonely and trapped in kate’s horrible house.. it’s times like this that I think back to the time when me and teddy requested mobile phones, Otter Keeper said no. If he’d just let us this would never have happened (I could phone Teddy to find out where he is – or where he is trapped). If you look at it this way the whole thing is actually Otter Keeper’s fault really. I put this theory to otter keeper but he just said that in Teddy’s absence I was having to resort to blaming things that went wrong on him instead of Teddy! He’s just being mean because he’s worried about Teddy, I understand.

teddy trap

If you can please spread the word about Teddy’s disappearance, or if you see Teddy, do get in touch – he can be quite shy so probably won’t respond if you call to him. If you have any trouble I suggest you tie him to you with a string and then come and find me and Otter keeper as soon as possible.

New strategical Otter Outpost

February 10th, 2010

otter and the washing machine

When making a strategical outpost you have to be careful.

Yesterday Otter Keeper was at work as usual, so me and Teddy decided to go exploring. Although we have been exploring many times before it still doesn’t get boring because we always seem to find new places and exciting things. I’m actually the best explorer and sometimes Teddy really doesn’t seem to want to come, so I have to tie him to me. Otter Keeper says that Teddy prefers a quiet life in front of the tv, but Otter Keeper’s wrong – he doesn’t understand Teddy like I do.

Exploring started off well We found a few interesting items that might be of use in the ongoing Kate trap program. We also found some secret documents and Otter plans under the sofa which we had completley forgotten about. I told Teddy off for this because it was probably him that had left them there and if these plans were to fall into the wrong hands it could be a disaster!

After a while we found ourselves in the kitchen. The Kitchen is one of my favorite rooms in the whole house – we have very exciting things in our kitchen like special machines to do things. I’ve always been quite fond of one Otter Keeper calls the washing machine. Usually it makes lots of noise and turns round. but today it had revealed itself to have a perfect little room just the right size for an Otter strategical outpost.

Teddy kept watch outside while I tried out the room for size , it was perfect! I then shut the secret door which was also perfect as Kate would never think to look inside. It was then that I realised me and Teddy had done a very silly thing. I couldn’t open the secret door!!!

I had to sit inside the new strategical Otter outpost for the rest of the day! Teddy was useless, he panicked and was too shocked to let me out. I told him again and again to go and call Otter Keeper on the phone (I’m allowed to phone him in emergencies – and this was an emergency) Eventually Otter Keeper came home and he heard my little tapping on the secret door. It wasn’t all bad because Otter Keeper seemed very relieved I was ok and I got a big cuddle.

otter trapped help

Tonight we’re watching a film together and I’m very happy about this. Actually I say “we” are watching a film, but a certain someone is not going to be watching the film with us… Teddy! I’m fed up with his attitude recently so I’ve put him down the side of the bed for the evening to think about what he’s done. Hopefully this will have the desired effect. Especially seeing as we’re watching the lion king .. which is one of Teddy’s favourites.

Unexpected Otter in the bagging area

January 28th, 2010

otter in the supermarket

“Unexpected Otter in the bagging area”

Yesterday was super exciting! I thought it was just going to be a normal evening but then Otter Keeper announced we were going “late night shopping”. After a brief question and answer session with Otter Keeper, me and Teddy worked out that late night shopping was just like normal shopping (which I love) …..but closer to bedtime.

The Supermarket is a really great place, that’s why it’s called the “Super” market. There are lots of wonderful exciting things to buy and some of them are at just the right height for an otter to reach. I had a great time walking round the supermarket but apparently I was causing too much mischief (shelf climbing is so much fun!) so I got strapped into the special otter seat on the big basket with wheels. It was a bit like my booster seat in the car all over again. However I was able to use my vantage point to select special items I may not have seen otherwise, so this was handy really.

In a supermarket, when you want to go home you have to put all the food in bags at a special machine. This was the best bit of all because Otter Keeper let me help (for a while). A lady lives somewhere inside the machine and talks to you, I know this because she talked to me and said I was an “unexpected Item in the bagging area” The lady is a bit silly, I explained to her that I was Otter.. but she just kept saying the same thing, I think this is because we are not quite friends yet and she wasn’t expecting visitors. This won’t be a problem next time because I will ask Otter Keeper to tell her that we are coming in advance. It’s only polite after all.

otter in the bagging area

I very much enjoyed my shopping trip and the best thing is that Otter Keeper got me a special thing called a “customer feedback form?” this is basically a special letter (just for otter’s I think) that you use to write to the supermarket people to tell them what a good time you had in their supermarket and how much you really REALLY love it. i’m filling this in tonight, and I can’t wait! I am also giving Teddy a special lesson in supermarkets – he needs to be brought up to speed on how great they actually are, and I feel it’s also important for him to know where food actually comes from in the real world.
unfortunately he couldn’t come on the trip as he had to stay behind to guard a picture I’ve drawn with my new crayons (it’s a really good one and I thought Kate might try and steal it)

Sticking to the things you love

January 14th, 2010

Sticking to the things you love

It all started yesterday morning
It was a good day to begin with. Me and Teddy had a successful sofa exploring expedition and had found an old piece of string and a very nice biro lid to present to Otter Keeper when he got home from work. We were exhausted and had just settled down to watch some daytime TV when I realised my crayon was nowhere to be seen. Me and Teddy searched all day (he didn’t put much effort in) but we couldn’t find it.

When Otter Keeper got home he found my crayon but I was still sad because me and Teddy had really wanted to do some colouring in that day. Otter Keeper explained how you must look after things that are important to you and if you have something REALLY important (like a pound, or a favourite crayon) you should stick with it for life.

The next day Otter Keeper was at work again and me and Teddy began discussing what he had told us. We were both very worried about loosing more things that were important to us … so Teddy hit on a brilliant idea. We decided to take Otter Keeper’s advice and stick together with the things that were important to us in life … and luckily last week we discovered where Otter Keeper kept the special glue (I’m not allowed to play with this but this was important)

It was hard deciding which were my most important things. I stuck myself to my ball and my crayon – but then Teddy pointed out that he was very important, so I stuck him to me too. After a while of thinking I suddenly realised what the most important thing in the world that I didn’t ever want to loose was …OTTER KEEPER. As soon as he arrived home and got through the door I ran up and stuck myself to him I didn’t even say hello…the fear of loosing him was too great at this point.

However today has ended a bit sad. Keeper is very cross and I am very confused. I did exactly what he had taught me… but apparently he didn’t mean it like that. I dont see what the problem is .. being stuck to Otter Keeper is great fun, and I always know where he is which is handy. Sadly it turns out sticking yourself to Otter Keepers is not allowed and he is trying to detach me, I’ve explained to him I might loose him if he does this but he doesn’t seem too worried.

Well me and Teddy are sticking together – no matter what happens! (hide and seek may not be as much fun – but he was always rubbish at that anyway).

Otter Keeper Goes To Work

June 10th, 2009

when-keeper-goes-to-work

Sadness….

Sometimes I get very sad I’m generally a very happy otter and I try to be happy as much as possible but this just isn’t always possible for one main reason…… Otter Keeper has a job

Every morning when we wake up The first thing I do is ask Otter Keeper if it’s the weekend but most of the time it’s not and he has to go and do his job. He says his job is important because it pays for the house where we live and also things like otter feed and coffee, I try to understand but it’s quite confusing. Why does he have to leave me behind ???

I try to be as happy as possible while he’s gone But the problem is I really REALLY miss the Otter Keeper. To feel better I have some photo’s of him I can look at and he’s also made me a special clock. When the little hand gets to the bit he showed me it means he will be home soon. If I hide under my blanket and don’t look at the clock it actually goes faster, so I try to do this lots and I’m getting quite good at it!

But the thing I MUST NOT DO is use the phone to call him at work. There’s a special button I can press if there is an emergency but he says missing him, feeling sad or telling him how much I love him isn’t an emergency?

I hate Birds!

June 2nd, 2009

Birds, I HATE BIRDS! (almost as much as Kate)

Going to the park is usually fun, But the other day it really wasn’t. Otter Keeper takes me to the park sometimes as a treat. Parks are really quite good if you are an otter and don’t have a garden (like me)

To start off with the park was brilliant, It was very hot and I enjoyed looking at things. The park is a wonderful place, if you haven’t been you really should go!  Me and otter keeper found an old man eating his sandwiches on a bench. Otter keeper said I probably shouldn’t bother him but I don’t always listen to the otter keeper! He was a very nice old man, I mostly told him all about the Otter Keeper and all the fun we have together.

The old man let me sit with him. But that’s WHEN THE BIRDS CAME! keeper said they wanted my sandwiches. I tried to explain to them that my lunch was for otters only and showed them my name on my little otter lunchbox. They didn’t listen. I was very upset. I told Otter Keeper I didn’t want to go back to the park for at least 4 days. Keeper said that was probably a good thing because I had annoyed the old man?
