my Otter band

Otter Band!! best thing EVER!!

Last week me and Teddy formed a band, and it’s the best band EVER! Being in a band is a really great thing to do. We’re a 3 piece and we’re called “the Kate fighters”. I do the singing because this is the most important job in the band, Teddy plays drums and our new friend Gertrude the plastic cow plays the keyboard. Otter Keeper is also sort of in the band, he says he’s a “roadie”… which means he carries things for us (I suggested he played an instrument because that’s much more fun – but he declined, he’s strange like that).

Being in a band is so much fun! You get to do loads of things and it means people like you and will think you’re cool. The other night we even got to do an exclusive band interview with Otter Keeper. This is because we’re getting to be a really good band and people will want to hear about us. We’re going to be famous.

The only problem is that I hardly seem to have any free time now I’m in the band and I’ve got to go already. But here is our band Interview we did with Otter Keeper last night.

(sorry about this but – Teddy has approached me and said that he thinks Gertrude may be involved in other musical side projects that she’s not telling us about. I’m not sure I believe him, I think he’s Jealous but we are going to have a band meeting to resolve the issue.
Little does Teddy know that I will also be using the meeting to bring up the issue of his bad drumming.)

  • where did you all meet?
Me and Teddy have always been friends. I met Gertrude in the toy box the other day when I was looking for additional band members, we just hit it off straight away. Gertrude is a very nice cow. I couldn’t believe it when she said she played keyboards and was looking for a band!
  • Where have you performed? What are your favourite and least favourite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?
We like performing in the living room and we’re doing a secret show for Otter Keeper in the bedroom and he doesn’t know about it yet and…
Oh no you’re not! we agreed no band practice in the bedroom remember?
Oh …we only like performing in the living room
    Good
  • Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics will change over time?
We write all of our songs about KATE. Kate is our next door neighbour and she is really horrible, everyone hates Kate and she is a really really big….
Otter there’s no need to go into this now, why don’t you answer the rest of the question. Do you think these topics will change over time?
    Nope, definitely not
  • Describe the song writing process
Well often I will think of some words. Then I’ll help Gertrude press a few buttons on the keyboard until we find a backing track that we like. Once we’ve pressed the button Gertrude can keep things going. Then I’ll move over to help Teddy try and come up with a beat. Teddy says it’s cheating to use the buttons on the keyboard – but he’s just jealous because he can’t play the drums properly.
  • What are your rehearsals generally like? Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?
We have been practising lots, mostly in the day when Otter Keeper is at work. but the other day we were spontaneous because we were watching TV and suddenly Teddy had a really good tune in his head so we did band practice which really annoyed otter keeper… didn’t it otter keeper…
I was only a little annoyed because you’ve made your rehearsal space directly in front of the TV…which I did advise you against didn’t I
…Don’t you like our band Otter Keeper?
Of course I do, but I was very tired and trying to relax
Well ok Keeper … but Teddy says your being mean and you want the band to split up
Teddy didn’t say that Otter you did
    ……..
Shall we move onto the next question Otter?
    …. yes please Otter Keeper
  • How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?
ummm I think Gertrude has done very well and is getting better at using her buttons….
Otter Keeper who invented our door bell… was it the postman? I bet he had something to do with it didn’t he Keeper because…
Otter.. are you concentrating on the interview?
    yes Keeper

  • What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
The other week we had an electric problem! But then it was ok because Otter Keeper found us some new batteries for the keyboard. Otter keeper is very helpful
    I love you Otter Keeper
    I love you too Otter
    and Teddy and Gertrude too?
…yes I love the whole band very much
  • What’s your ultimate direction for your band? Are you seeking fame and fortune?
Yes definitely. But me and Teddy are also seeking other things because we are explorers in our spare time. We’re currently seeking his red bouncy ball, we lost it the other week. Can I talk about the ball Otter Keeper?
Its not really what you do in a band interview Otter
…ok…. I didn’t actually want to talk about the ball anyway
  • How can fans-to-be gain access to your music? Do you have a website with sample songs or a demo CD?
umm no we don’t actually . ….Otter keeper we need a website don’t we?
I can’t build you ANOTHER WEBSITE Otter!
    …But Otter Keeper we Need a ..
Shall we talk about this later otter..?
…….But Teddy says we REALLY NEED..
    Later Otter…
  • Is there anyone you’d like to acknowledge for offering financial or emotional support?
Well before the last question I would have said Otter Keeper but now..
Do you still want me to do this interview with you Otter?
    Yes?
    Well shoosh then
..Shoosh Teddy..this is an important interview and you’re ruining things
  • Any last words?
Umm can I say hi to the postman
    Yes
    Hi postman!!
gertrude the plastic keyboarding cow

Why I love rain

June 8th, 2010

otter in the rain

Rain is the best thing ever!

Rain actually is the best thing EVER! This is mainly because it’s so much fun but rain is also important for other reasons too, like keeping outside clean, or making rainbows happen.

I’m not really sure where the rain comes from…. Otter Keeper says the clouds in the sky, but I’ve seen clouds that also come from our kettle in the kitchen. Otter Keeper has probably got things a bit wrong and I suspect that rain possibly comes from the kettle (or at least has something to do with it).

Me and Teddy have made a note to investigate this theory. We plan to get all the pillows from the sofa, make a tower and see if we can reach the sky to see if there’s someone there who we can ask where rain comes from. Unfortunately as of last Friday Otter keeper has put a ban on any pillow emigration from their room of origin. This will have to be a secret plan. I’ve put Teddy in charge – if anything goes wrong it’s his fault.

When you go out in the rain it’s quite important to wear special clothes. I have a special yellow coat that Keeper puts on me whenever it’s raining. Teddy doesn’t have a special coat, so Teddy has a bag. Sometimes I think Teddy is a bit jealous of my coat but I have little sympathy for him after he went exploring at the post office without me the other week. Besides I’ve told him he looks very pretty in his bag. It’s a very nice bag.

otter and teddy in rain gear

But the best thing of all to do when it rains is to go outside in “the box”. When we think it might rain (like when Otter Keeper has just used the kettle to make tea) me and Teddy keep lookout at the window. If it does start raining we ask Otter Keeper if we can go outside in “the box”. He doesn’t always say yes but most of the time he does. Otter keeper gets me a cardboard box and cuts a little window in it for me and Teddy to look out at the rain from. He then puts it in the garden for us to go in! It’s so much fun because it’s all cosy and you can hear the sound of the rain on top of the little roof.

I really wish Otter Keeper would join me though – that’s the only sad thing He says he wouldn’t fit in our box. I suggested that he find a really big box just for Otter Keepers … he thought about it for a while but then said that other people in the neighbourhood might think he was a little strange. I don’t know what on earth he means … if me and teddy had our way everyone would go out in their garden in boxes to enjoy the rain!

It’s stopped raining now which is a little sad but it’s OK because me and Teddy are off to make some more by switching the kettle on and off a few times.

Teddy has returned!!!!

May 18th, 2010

teddy in the post office

Teddy Is HOME ! ! !

Wonderful wonderful fantastic news, TEDDY IS Back! This is just the best news ever! I’m so happy I just don’t know what to do (actually I did have an idea about having a party but Otter Keeper said no because it’s a weekday)

Anyway, It was still the morning time and Otter Keeper had gone to work. I had settled down to making a new missing Teddy poster and was feeling quite sad (I’ve been sad ever since Teddy went) but at about lunchtime Otter Keeper phoned up with THE BEST NEWS EVER! He had heard from the lady at the post Office, SHE HAD FOUND TEDDY!

After running round the room and lots of sofa bouncing I suddenly realised I needed to speak to Otter Keeper more to know what would happen next. So I returned to the phone. Otter Keeper explained to me that he would come home in his lunchbreak and we would be going to bring Teddy home.

It took forever for lunchtime to come and I was so excited it was hard to control myself, especially in the car on the way there (otter keeper pointed out this was why the booster seat was so useful) I said he was right and the booster seat was great and a most useful purchase. The booster seat genuinely didn’t seem to be as annoying because I was so happy we were going to get teddy!

I always love going to the post office but today it was better than ever. I told everyone I met on the way that we were going to get teddy. Otter keeper said I was just confusing people because normal people can’t understand me (only Otter keeper understands me) and they also wouldn’t know who teddy was. But to be honest I didn’t really mind what was happening because Teddy was back!

When we arrived at the post office I couldn’t see him at first but then otter Keeper lifted me up onto the special Otter platform and the nice post lady pointed to…. TEDDY!!! there he was!!!

Now Teddy is home life can go back to being brilliant and amazing again. The best thing of all is when I offered the post lady my yellow crayon and saved pocket money as the reward she said it was ok and I could keep them! This was fantastic. Ladies that work in the post office are just great and now I want to be a postman a bit more than an astronaut when I grow up. (But this is subject to change because I also quite want to be a professional gardener or a hotel receptionist this week)

I’m so happy teddy is back. I haven’t worked out why he wanted to go to the post office yet, he’s being rather closed about it – but I think he’s just a bit upset because he must have missed me and Otter Keeper lots which would be very distressing for him. At the same time though I am also a little angry with him for going to the post office exploring without me. I will be giving him some special training next week in how to not go exploring without your friends because it can be dangerous. I would never go to the post office without Otter Keeper for example in case a stranger talked to me or we needed to get on a bus (I find these things quite hard by myself) . otter and teddy

Otter Keeper says I must also say thank you for all the kind help and support I got when looking for teddy. Thankyou so much! Teddy is very grateful too and he promises not to go exploring by himself again. I should go now, it’s time for some Teddy interrogation – he has information about the secret inner workings of the post office and I must get it out of him whilst it’s still fresh in his mind.

Teddy …MISSING !!!!

April 29th, 2010

lost teddy poster

Missing Teddy – Please HELP!

Terrible Terrible news, TEDDY IS MISSING! This is just the worst news ever! Last time I saw him was the other week when we were exploring. But then, when it was time to get ready for bed I looked for him as usual…… and he was…GONE!

At first I wasn’t too worried Teddy does have an odd habit of wandering off back to do something in the place where we were last playing together – I tell him off, but he is quite stubborn and keeps doing it. Anyway, when I still couldn’t find teddy the next morning, I started to get worried! What if Kate has trapped him? Or maybe he’s even run away because he doesn’t like me anymore (we had an argument last week when we were marking househould objects out of 10. He said the toaster should be a 6 when it is clearly worthy of a 7 – he’s biased because he burnt his paw – I did tell him not to touch it)

Otter keeper said I was being silly and that I’d just misplaced Teddy. He said when he got home from work we’d have a proper look together. This cheered me up as activities with Otter Keeper are always fun – even if it is on a sad occasion like searching for a missing friend. We looked everywhere that evening but we STILL COULDN’T FIND HIM. I was really very upset that night and although he didn’t seem worried on the outside, I knew Otter keeper was also really really sad and missing Teddy lots on the inside – maybe even more than me). Otter Keeper and Teddy are a bit like that, they find it hard to show their feelings for each other sometimes.

where is teddy

I was desperate to do something to help find teddy so Otter keeper helped me make a little sign, so that if anyone finds teddy they will return him to me. Otter Keeper also suggested I offer a reward for Teddy’s safe return. This was quite hard because it meant giving up some favorite Otter things. After thinking long and hard about how much I love teddy I offered my yellow crayon (my second favorite colour) some sweets and even a large sum of my pocket money I’ve been saving. £1.72 is a lot of money so teddy had better appreciate it. I will probably make him pay it back to me actually.

I’ve put the poster up in our window – and hopefully everyone will see it. The postman was very nice (Otter Keeper let me show him the poster) he said he’d keep an eye out for teddy whilst he delivers all his post, I was very grateful – I do really like the postman – he’s a good friend.

I should go now , I’m keeping a watch at the window just in case teddy has got outside somehow (or in-case I see Kate leaving her house with a suspicious teddy shaped parcel) – I’m also trying to wave at people walking past, to point at the poster. Sadly they don’t usually see me because I’m quite small, and we have an annoying garden in the way.

I really hope he comes back soon. I miss him so much. Exploring is just no fun without him there, and I keep thinking of him all lonely and trapped in kate’s horrible house.. it’s times like this that I think back to the time when me and teddy requested mobile phones, Otter Keeper said no. If he’d just let us this would never have happened (I could phone Teddy to find out where he is – or where he is trapped). If you look at it this way the whole thing is actually Otter Keeper’s fault really. I put this theory to otter keeper but he just said that in Teddy’s absence I was having to resort to blaming things that went wrong on him instead of Teddy! He’s just being mean because he’s worried about Teddy, I understand.

teddy trap

If you can please spread the word about Teddy’s disappearance, or if you see Teddy, do get in touch – he can be quite shy so probably won’t respond if you call to him. If you have any trouble I suggest you tie him to you with a string and then come and find me and Otter keeper as soon as possible.

Otter Star Charts

April 6th, 2010

otter and star chart

How NOT to use an Otter Star Chart

Sometimes things happen and you don’t know why. A good example of this would be last week when according to Otter Keeper mine and Teddy’s behaviour was “unacceptable”. Now I didn’t think we had been particualy bad last week. I suppose we did hold the first ever sofa bouncing championships, and naturally an exciting occasion like this does entail some mess. However, I specifically pointed out to Otter Keeper that I had delegated the job of tidying up to Teddy, and it’s really not my fault if he doesn’t do as he’s told.

There were other things too. Otter Keeper wasn’t happy that he had tripped over a half built Kate trap that had been left in the hallway. OH and I also found out last week that posting presents to the postman the opposite way out of the little otter door is “very naughty”, but I was only being nice, I wanted to give him something “useful” (Otter Keeper told me “useful” presents are one of the best types you can give)… and I thought he should have our TV remote control, it was the most useful thing I could think of.

After we had our talk Otter Keeper then explained the star chart to me. The Star Chart lives on the fridge and basically if you don’t do “bad” things then you get stars. If you get enough stars then you get an Otter treat! (he wouldn’t tell me what it is, but apparantly I do have to share it with Teddy – which is a bit annoying)

At first I liked the star chart and Otter Keeper very kindly gave me a few stars to “get things going”. After a while of looking at the star chart and explaining it to Teddy I decided I wanted to do something else… and this was where the problems with the star chart began.

You see it turns out you can’t do anything fun when you have a star chart! it causes real problems for most otter activities and it soon became clear that doing things in secret was the only option. It was around that time that teddy hit upon the idea of changing the sofa bouncing olympics to the bed bouncing olympics. But Otter Keeper found us, and we actually got one of our “getting things going” stars taken away!

So the other day when Keeper was at work me and Teddy made a plan which was a bit more his idea than mine. We found where Otter Keeper keeps the stars and then between us managed to scale the fridge to stick them in place (it’s not that hard to climb the fridge if you know how to do it – and me and Teddy do because we have to do a lot of climbing when we go exploring). Anyway, this way I could explain to Otter Keeper that whilst he had been at work we had been trying extra hard and actually managed to achieve all the star chart goals in just one day! He would be really proud, we would receive our prize and hopefullly that would be the end of the star chart. It was really a very clever plan.

Sadly our plan didn’t work and now there is a new line on the star chart “leave the star chart alone”. I pointed out this would be more accurate if it said “Teddy must leave the start chart alone” … but Otter Keeper pointed to point number three “don’t blame things on Teddy”. I pointed out that Otter Keeper was being unreasonable and mean.

Lots of pointing went on actually…. and in the end I decided that star charts are really hard and confusing … I also have a theory that Kate invented them. But I think it’s best I don’t talk to Otter Keeper about this for the moment.

The Natural History Museum is fantastic !

March 19th, 2010

otter at the natural history museum

Best Otter Outing EVER!!

You won’t believe where we went last week …a place called the Natural History Museum (just so you know, this is actually the best place in the world ever). To understand this place you first have to know what history is, and history is basically anything that has happened already, like last Tuesday for example, last Tuesday is now history. Some history is more interesting than other history though (last Tuesday was quite boring as Teddy was sleepy and we didn’t get any exploring done). Interesting history is kept at the Natural History Museum* and that’s why Otter Keeper took us there for an Otter outing!!
*information courtesy of Otter Keeper – he had to explain this several times and I think I’ve got it right.

Being at a museum is incredibly exciting for an otter and as a result I did get into trouble a few times. Otter Keeper told me all about a special man called Charles Darwin and there was a statue of him. Darwin apparently had a clever idea about a thing called evolution. Keeper spent a long time trying to explain this to me… and believe me it is VERY confusing (you probably wouldn’t understand). Basically Evolution is why Teddy is a good explorer. You see Teddy’s grandparents for example probably didn’t have arms and legs to get about under the sofa or go on important missions around the house with their otter friends – but because these skills are a very important part of being a teddy, over time they eventually grew them! see how clever evolution is?

Anyway, I wanted to get a closer look at this Darwin man… So I went to see Darwin and talk to him. This is not allowed in the museum though (they are very protective of Mr. Darwin) so I didn’t get time to ask him how I could speed up evolution more for Teddy so he could grow wings (I’ve always wanted teddy be able to fly, we’d be able to trap Kate no problem if he had wings, and I could get him to carry things too)

I had such a great day (even though I didn’t get to speak to Mr. Darwin properly) I saw lots of things, including a REAL dinosaur. Keeper said it wasn’t real, but I think he’s wrong. This one had skin and moved where as all the others were skeletons. Teddy was a bit scared, but I wasn’t

Otter in gift shop

I also have to make a special mention of the gift shop! Otters love gift shops, they are full of very useful and essential things for people to buy and take home. I discovered a very important dinosaur head on a stick, that I knew we just could NOT live without, and luckily, for once Otter Keeper agreed! I love the dinosaur head on a stick, it’s very useful. I’m sure it could really come in handy in an emergency! I’m planning on showing it to the postman tomorrow.

I’ve told Teddy he can’t play with it until he can fully explain evolution to me (although I understand it – I think he has yet to get a firm grasp of it – I want him to understand, to make him clever and then his “future will be bright” – I saw something about this on tv and if Teddy is stupid he might not get a good job. I want Teddy to be a lawyer (as well as grow wings through evolution) as I think these skills may be of use to us in defeating Kate).

Anyway the only strange thing is that for some reason (after initially seeming enthusiastic) Otter Keeper himself seems to have taken a completely unfounded dislike to my new dinosaur head on a stick. Me and Teddy just can’t work this out?

We are hoping if we keep playing with it around him whilst he’s tying to watch TV he will eventually evolve to like dinosaur heads on sticks. And that is what we plan to do for the rest of the evening as it’s been a long (but very amazing) day.

New strategical Otter Outpost

February 10th, 2010

otter and the washing machine

When making a strategical outpost you have to be careful.

Yesterday Otter Keeper was at work as usual, so me and Teddy decided to go exploring. Although we have been exploring many times before it still doesn’t get boring because we always seem to find new places and exciting things. I’m actually the best explorer and sometimes Teddy really doesn’t seem to want to come, so I have to tie him to me. Otter Keeper says that Teddy prefers a quiet life in front of the tv, but Otter Keeper’s wrong – he doesn’t understand Teddy like I do.

Exploring started off well We found a few interesting items that might be of use in the ongoing Kate trap program. We also found some secret documents and Otter plans under the sofa which we had completley forgotten about. I told Teddy off for this because it was probably him that had left them there and if these plans were to fall into the wrong hands it could be a disaster!

After a while we found ourselves in the kitchen. The Kitchen is one of my favorite rooms in the whole house – we have very exciting things in our kitchen like special machines to do things. I’ve always been quite fond of one Otter Keeper calls the washing machine. Usually it makes lots of noise and turns round. but today it had revealed itself to have a perfect little room just the right size for an Otter strategical outpost.

Teddy kept watch outside while I tried out the room for size , it was perfect! I then shut the secret door which was also perfect as Kate would never think to look inside. It was then that I realised me and Teddy had done a very silly thing. I couldn’t open the secret door!!!

I had to sit inside the new strategical Otter outpost for the rest of the day! Teddy was useless, he panicked and was too shocked to let me out. I told him again and again to go and call Otter Keeper on the phone (I’m allowed to phone him in emergencies – and this was an emergency) Eventually Otter Keeper came home and he heard my little tapping on the secret door. It wasn’t all bad because Otter Keeper seemed very relieved I was ok and I got a big cuddle.

otter trapped help

Tonight we’re watching a film together and I’m very happy about this. Actually I say “we” are watching a film, but a certain someone is not going to be watching the film with us… Teddy! I’m fed up with his attitude recently so I’ve put him down the side of the bed for the evening to think about what he’s done. Hopefully this will have the desired effect. Especially seeing as we’re watching the lion king .. which is one of Teddy’s favourites.

Unexpected Otter in the bagging area

January 28th, 2010

otter in the supermarket

“Unexpected Otter in the bagging area”

Yesterday was super exciting! I thought it was just going to be a normal evening but then Otter Keeper announced we were going “late night shopping”. After a brief question and answer session with Otter Keeper, me and Teddy worked out that late night shopping was just like normal shopping (which I love) …..but closer to bedtime.

The Supermarket is a really great place, that’s why it’s called the “Super” market. There are lots of wonderful exciting things to buy and some of them are at just the right height for an otter to reach. I had a great time walking round the supermarket but apparently I was causing too much mischief (shelf climbing is so much fun!) so I got strapped into the special otter seat on the big basket with wheels. It was a bit like my booster seat in the car all over again. However I was able to use my vantage point to select special items I may not have seen otherwise, so this was handy really.

In a supermarket, when you want to go home you have to put all the food in bags at a special machine. This was the best bit of all because Otter Keeper let me help (for a while). A lady lives somewhere inside the machine and talks to you, I know this because she talked to me and said I was an “unexpected Item in the bagging area” The lady is a bit silly, I explained to her that I was Otter.. but she just kept saying the same thing, I think this is because we are not quite friends yet and she wasn’t expecting visitors. This won’t be a problem next time because I will ask Otter Keeper to tell her that we are coming in advance. It’s only polite after all.

otter in the bagging area

I very much enjoyed my shopping trip and the best thing is that Otter Keeper got me a special thing called a “customer feedback form?” this is basically a special letter (just for otter’s I think) that you use to write to the supermarket people to tell them what a good time you had in their supermarket and how much you really REALLY love it. i’m filling this in tonight, and I can’t wait! I am also giving Teddy a special lesson in supermarkets – he needs to be brought up to speed on how great they actually are, and I feel it’s also important for him to know where food actually comes from in the real world.
unfortunately he couldn’t come on the trip as he had to stay behind to guard a picture I’ve drawn with my new crayons (it’s a really good one and I thought Kate might try and steal it)

Sticking to the things you love

January 14th, 2010

Sticking to the things you love

It all started yesterday morning
It was a good day to begin with. Me and Teddy had a successful sofa exploring expedition and had found an old piece of string and a very nice biro lid to present to Otter Keeper when he got home from work. We were exhausted and had just settled down to watch some daytime TV when I realised my crayon was nowhere to be seen. Me and Teddy searched all day (he didn’t put much effort in) but we couldn’t find it.

When Otter Keeper got home he found my crayon but I was still sad because me and Teddy had really wanted to do some colouring in that day. Otter Keeper explained how you must look after things that are important to you and if you have something REALLY important (like a pound, or a favourite crayon) you should stick with it for life.

The next day Otter Keeper was at work again and me and Teddy began discussing what he had told us. We were both very worried about loosing more things that were important to us … so Teddy hit on a brilliant idea. We decided to take Otter Keeper’s advice and stick together with the things that were important to us in life … and luckily last week we discovered where Otter Keeper kept the special glue (I’m not allowed to play with this but this was important)

It was hard deciding which were my most important things. I stuck myself to my ball and my crayon – but then Teddy pointed out that he was very important, so I stuck him to me too. After a while of thinking I suddenly realised what the most important thing in the world that I didn’t ever want to loose was …OTTER KEEPER. As soon as he arrived home and got through the door I ran up and stuck myself to him I didn’t even say hello…the fear of loosing him was too great at this point.

However today has ended a bit sad. Keeper is very cross and I am very confused. I did exactly what he had taught me… but apparently he didn’t mean it like that. I dont see what the problem is .. being stuck to Otter Keeper is great fun, and I always know where he is which is handy. Sadly it turns out sticking yourself to Otter Keepers is not allowed and he is trying to detach me, I’ve explained to him I might loose him if he does this but he doesn’t seem too worried.

Well me and Teddy are sticking together – no matter what happens! (hide and seek may not be as much fun – but he was always rubbish at that anyway).

An Otter Christmas

December 30th, 2009

Christmas!!!

Yay yay YAY..Christmas was so much fun.
But firstly I have to pass on the slightly sad news that the Santa stakeout failed. Me and Teddy both put in extra effort on christmas eve to stay up. I was in fact a bit annoyed with Teddy because when I couldn’t stay up any more I made him promise to keep watch. He must have fallen asleep as when I woke up… Santa had been. I questioned Teddy as to why he had failed to follow instruction but he just gave me his usual blank expression which he always does when he’s been bad. I’ve forgiven him now, it’s Christmas and Otter keeper says you shouldn’t be angry with anyone at christmas (I’m making a concession for Kate – I’m always angry with her)

Christmas day was SO much fun, not only did I get lots of presents fron Santa but also from Otter Keeper! this meant lots of Otter presents. Santa even bought Teddy a small present which was very thoughtful, I had to open this for teddy as I think he was a bit overwhelmed (it’s hard to tell but I think he gets really excited at Christmas). You see, Not many people understand teddy because he doesnt say much. Only I really know what he thinks and sometimes I have to explain to Otter Keeper what Teddy is saying.

Anyway, the only bad thing Ive found about christmas day is brussel sprouts. They are these nasty green things and they taste exceptionally horrible if you’re an otter. Keeper thinks brussel sprouts are great (he’s so stupid). Teddy REALLY hated them and I passed this information on to Otter Keeper (teddy was really quite rude about the brussel sprouts) and Keeper got a bit cross. I told Teddy to keep a low profile for the rest of the day (he usually does any way) ….and I had to eat my sprouts. yuk. I hope whoever invented brussel sprouts (probably Kate) is happy now.

I really hope everyone else had A wonderful Christmas like me. Otter Keeper said I should take this chance to say thankyou to eveyone who reads my stories (thats probably YOU! if your reading this). We have lots planned for next year so don’t go anywhere! I would put Teddy on guard to make sure you don’t … but he’d probably just fall asleep
