No.3 The Playstation 3 (9 out of 10)
When I told Otter Keeper that the Playstation 3 was my next favourite household object he gave me “the look”. He said no-one would want to hear about the Playstation 3 and it’s not a good thing that I play it. But it’s ok because Otter Keeper is wrong.

In reality the Playstation 3 is actually only a problem for Teddy. This is because he spends too much time watching us play it when he should be in the other room doing activities young teddies should do. As a result Teddy doesn’t get enough exercise and that’s another reason he’s getting a bit fat. It’s also meant to improve his reaction skills and this hasn’t happened either. Teddy’s reaction skills are terrible. I’m still waiting for him to react to most of the things that happened last week.
If you’re not very good at games (like Teddy) you get the game over screen. This is a sad time because it means you have to start over again. Sometimes when I offer Otter Keeper advice on how to play the game but at the wrong time, we get the game over screen more than usual. When this happens I get into trouble.
So when Otter Keeper is playing I try to keep really quiet and concentrate on picking up tips instead (But I do still like to whisper to Teddy about where Otter Keeper is going wrong). Unfortunately It’s really hard to keep quiet when your watching the Playstation 3 because it’s so exciting. And this is why it has achieved a 9 out of 10!

No.4 – The Recycling Box (8.7 out of 10)
The green recycling box is really great and we’ve scored it an 8.7! Its high score is deserved because it’s a good example of a household object that has one use for Otters and several (unexplained and less important) uses for Otter Keepers. For me the recycling box is quite obviously a pirate ship, but Otter Keeper’s relationship with the recycling box is altogether more… strange.

The other day Otter Keeper said “The recycling box has the power to save the world”. Now you must understand He doesn’t usually say things that are anywhere near this exciting. Our theory is that this outburst can be put down to the fact that (although he won’t admit it) Otter Keeper clearly wants to be a superhero and has ear-marked the green box as his future sidekick. Me and Teddy both think this is a very strange choice. Teddy also wants to know why Otter Keeper obviously has really fun ideas yet refuses to share them with his friends! To be honest, why not just join in with us and be a pirate? – me and Teddy already played super heroes last week and it just seems like he’s being awkward.
The worst thing of all is that when Otter Keeper isn’t indulging in his bizarre superhero fantasies about the box he actually thinks it’s ok to fill it with his rubbish. Why can’t he load us up with useful supplies Rather than empty packets which are useless to an Otter and Teddy on long voyages. Honestly, me and Teddy despair sometimes. This behaviour will do nothing to further his career as a superhero and it certainly does nothing to help those of us at sea. So why do it?
Me and Teddy have to go now we’re going to throw some of the annoying Otter Keeper additions to the boat overboard. This was Teddy’s idea, he’s a very ruthless pirate you see and he gets quite bad tempered when he’s been at sea for too long.

Top 5 Otter Household Objects
At the moment everything is quite simply brilliant! Otter Keeper broke the news to me a few days ago that it is in fact my Otter birthday next Sunday (that’s 6 days from now!) this is just fantastic news. Teddy was speechless and I just feel I want to hug Otter Keeper all the way till Sunday now (but that wouldn’t be allowed – he has “things to do”).
The problem me and Teddy are facing is the fact that 6 days is ages. I got quite distressed when I thought about how long this actually was, so asked Otter Keeper for advice. When I’m really excited Otter Keeper tells me to mark things out of 10 because it helps keep me calm. He suggested that we spend the week doing some marking and come up with our top 5 household objects to tell everyone about. It was a great idea and almost as exciting as my Otter birthday itself. Well, today is Monday so here is the first one.
No.5 – The laptop (8.5 out of 10)
The laptop is just amazing and both me and Teddy felt it deserved a very commendable 8.5 out of 10. One of the great things about the laptop is if you get cold you can sit on it to warm up (only when there is no Otter Keeper around though). However, when something goes wrong (which sometimes happens when I have been sitting on it for warmth actually?) it comes up with a little message and tells me and Teddy to contact our system administrator. This confused us at first and we spent a long time looking for him. We now know that the system administrator is another name for Otter Keeper. Me and Teddy contact him and he sorts things out so we can go back to having fun on the laptop.

The laptop is really clever (maybe even cleverer than Otter Keeper) but it’s not super human. Last month it got sick and Otter Keeper had to buy an anti-virus program. I asked if me and Teddy could use this too because it can put a real dampener on exploring if you get ill but he said it doesn’t work on Otters – which is a shame. I think the laptop isn’t quite fully recovered yet as it’s still getting quite tired. This is why if you leave it alone for too long and go to play with something else it goes to sleep!
Me and Teddy have to go now. We need to wait for the postman to ask him how he feels about emails – we’re concerned he might be a bit jealous of them due to the nature of his work, and we need to check everything is out in the open between him and the laptop. Anyway I’m sure everything will be ok so don’t worry and don’t go too far either because we have our next exciting household object review tomorrow!
